The Phoenix was on Judee's Heart Food album (released in1974) only it didn't have the extra background singer nor the extra instruments. I have to say the extras aren't needed.The strengh of this song is simplicity. I would like to know which release this is from.Enjoyed the photos especially the one of Judee smiling with joy!

Indeed, Andy Partrige himself cited her as one of his main sources of inspiration. Thanks for helping in (re-)discovering that wonderful songwriter.
