The Pat Metheny Group performing "San Lorenzo" in December 1977.
Taped by bpthree.
Pat Metheny - electric guitars
Lyle Mays - piano, Oberheim Four-Voice synthesizer, autoharp
Mark Egan - electric bass
Dan Gottlieb - drums
Audio processing done by kth42:
- made the audio track louder by a few dB (while preventing clipping)
- applied a denoising filter due to the amplified tape hiss becoming a distraction
- applied a pseudo-stereo effect for a better listening experience on headphones

  • My favorite Pat song. Yet, it's really Lyle who takes it to another level. He goes nuts, especially on the CD. This video really shows how much he was doing on this song. How much he added to its total sound. Pretty incredible.

  • ..I love to travel in time with this music..the wonder years..

  • I carried this song with me on my MP3 player during my hike up the Appalachian Trail. I am pleased that the two are now forever connected.

  • This song was introduced to me by my boyfriend in the U.S. many years ago. I've been a Pat Metheny fan ever since.

  • Hard to believe it's been 35 YEARS since I heard this song on a/d/s L810 speakers at NATURAL SOUND in Framingham, Mass. filling their showroom with UNBELIEVABLE SOUND !! It gave me CHILLS then and STILL DOES.

  • An early classic! Lyle solo FTW!

    video = awesomeness.

  • this is phenomenal. . . i'm blown away

  • This is pure chemistry. And where Eric Johnson takes a lot of ideas from !

  • My favorite song by this group.......what a masterpiece. Close yours eyes and be transported to the rich world of chords, notes, melodies and musical highs!

  • Such transcendent beauty. Lyle Mays makes me happy to be alive.

  • 'with Pat it seems that there are a lot of musicians playing, I guess this is because of how they play and use the instruments. Before I saw this song

live I use to think that there were more than four of them. But its incredible

watching the four alone do this magnificent sound and song. All the Best with

the Pat Metheny Group. This is an icon recording
