Way cool. Double extra cool, in fact. But my Spitfire with 3.1 Chevy V-6 can beat your Spitfire up the side of a boulder strewn mountainside! Its 4 wheel drive with 33 inch tall off road tires! And I would bet that you don't have an onboard welder or an engine driven air compressor for your air tools either! How about an 8000lb capacity winch? We should swap cars for a week.....

Amazing! This obviously isnt on a standard 4:1:1 triumph axle is it? Cause the standard 1300 engine blows them up! lol. :)

@triumph1974 yeah because it was shelby's idea to put a V8 in a light car
-
@71TR6Guy nope , if you replace to much of the car you have to re register it on a Q plate or something
-
Hey with those new rules in the UK, is it true you can't build cars like this anymore? i think I read that the engines *must* have matching numbers with the car nowadays, or if it's replaced, it needs to be model-correct?

Well, I just acquired a race prepped 63 Spit, but I doubt it would hold a candle against this beast. Nice stuff!
I checked out your website pictures. Unlucky about the fire. How did it happen?
Also how much money have you spent on this?

Caught fire on the M25 Motorway in a traffic jam - think one of the ignition leads was touching the header - my own fault for not fireproofing it! It's now got heat reistant over everytrhing that might get hot and with plumbed in fire extinguisher.
It's been an ongoing project for about 15 years - never totaled it up but think it must be close to £40K over the years - including bebuilding it again after the fire!
