Even though Blu-ray won the HD-DVD & Blu-ray war, Blu-ray is still competing against DVD which a lot of people including myself still prefer. Blu-ray only makes the picture slightly better and it's fucking expensive just for a slightly better picture. Also this digital format war reminds me of the videotape format war in the late 70's and 80's involving VHS and Betamax.

I knew Blu Ray was gonna win from the start because of many reasons. When I was young like back in 2002, 2003 blu ray was announced back THEN with the same space capacity. Also blu ray had 25 gb on a single layer come on, HD DVD was just a touch up on normal dvds. It was like how Sega made the Sega CD just to prolong the life of the Genesis

I'm gonna stick to DVD's for a couple more years because I never buy a movie over 10€ (what is that? 14 dollars or so?) so until Blu-Ray Discs drop their prices I'm not buying them but I'm seeing some fairly low priced BRD's on the market already so there is hope.
