This is a virtual reenactment of the historical argument of Alonzo T. Jones before the United States Senate Committee on Education and Labor, Dec. 13, 1888. It is based on the book, and follows accurately the dialogue there recorded.

It is hoped that this little endeavor will prove a blessing to all Americans, and to everyone in whose heart burns the desire to be free, and to know what it means to be free. Yet it is not solely for them, but for all who would know more fully what their duty as citizens is, and what is the duty of any just government to its citizens.
