Over the age of 40 screening is advised every year by a mammogram. Ultrasound and MRI also are used in detection of breast cancer. Cysts and tumors are detected and treatment is determined based on these medical imaging techniques. Needle biopsies are used to take a tissue sample. The sampling is also guided by these imaging techniques for more accuracy.
