I think if you listen more carefully, he actually doesn't write that much like Dylan. Has his own style - more storytelling, more personal voice. Dylan always tries to be cryptic, Pug is more forthright and "speaks" in first person. His melodies are also pretty different, less ballad style, as is his guitar style. Also, as far as i know, he writes his own melodies. (That is not a slam at Dylan, just an aspect of the folk tradition, but Bob has borrowed quite a few.)
