greenlake way ne in seattle.
video starts with green emphasized bikelane crossing at an intersection much improved and traffic calmed for both bicyclists and pedestrians, then a short glimpse to the right of the end of a bikelane into sharrowed street as the chicaned end of the intersection treatment where west and east greenlake ways merge at the south end of greenlake. as the video progresses its a straightforward 4 lane arterial with marginally wide outside lane and sharrows placed right biased.
I pass two bicyclists to the right of the lane; are they positioned too far to the right and encouraging unsafe passing? (I effectively blocked this lane for its entirety from the merge at green lake all the way to 50th ave N at the end of the video.
Would these cyclists have encouraged unsafe passing during higher traffic flow on this road? would a better facility be a bonifide bikelane along this limited intersection roadway?
