Nightcrawler woops some serious as sin the whole 2 and a half minutes though. :P
They should've given him a major part in X-3.
And, the movies ignored the image-inducer becuase... Nightcrawler got that from PRfo. X, didn't he? ANd in this movie... he wasn't at the Institute so he wouldnt have the IMage Inducer. And since PRof X made the thing for Nightcrawler. since he wasn't there he would have no reason to make it.
You almost have it. They did have the budget to do it, but the actor, Alan Cumming hated the long makeup process, plus Nightcrawlers appearance was only going to be minimal, so the makeup artists didn't think it was worth it.
The reason Nightcrawler wasn't in the 3rd movie is because his role in the movie was going to be minimal, and the makeup artists didn't want to go through the hours of makeup given the fact that Alan Cumming, the actor who portrays Nightcrawler hated the makeup application anyway. So they just deleted his character completely.
"X-Men the Official game" explains that Nightcrawler joined the X-Men for a brief time after X2 but didn't like their violent lifestyle, so he quit.
