I use Kino to import all my video to my computer, but I use Cinelerra for all the editing. :-)

@iharhajster Oh, man, I'm so sorry for taking so long! Import to DV with Kino then use WinFF for easy drag and drop to other formats.

One thing. How do I use Kino to make good quality, low size videos. All the options I tried usually end up with the file registering as '0bytes' in the explorer program

@airconguy1 Best suggestion for you actually is don't use Kino... Render normally from there and then get WinFF - it's a GUI for FFMPEG. You can tweak it pretty much any way you want from there and render out a smaller file.

when I use kino it keeps crashing could you tell me why?

I'll give it a go. What distro and version are you running, what video card, how much RAM and do you get specific error messages on termination if you start it from a terminal (Just open up and type "kino" and you're good to go).
