Bootlegs (piracy) have always been a part of hip hop. Even the artists themselves rhyme about listening to bootlegs. Hip hop is often listened to by people that can't really afford the tracks off the rack; we listen to it because we don't like the system, and the system doesn't really like us either so it doesn't see fit to reward us with money. Definitely buy it if you can, but make sure you listen to it no matter what. Music is medicine and the Typical Cats wouldn't deny that to a fan.
