I heard somewhere that regular garden hoses can cause cancer if used for drinking water, same might apply to fish, so check it out and see if there is any truth to that, because I see you are using regular garden hoses for your system.

Who knows.... "Potable Water" hoses are available where ever RV supplies and such are sold, but it's such a short piece I've never been concerned about it... but then again I'm of the generation that grew up drinking out of them! :)

Using a siphon loop instead of a mechanical float valve or similar control is inspired. Excellent! Thanks for some great ideas.

Thanks!!! It really works great!! I'm growing strawberries in it at the moment. It just takes adjusting and checking the water valves on the top inlets every now and then to keep them flowing free and at the correct amount. I have also gotten rid of small holes in the bottom of the beds. They got stopped up constantly anyway, but I did install a "punch in" drip irrigation connector and 6 or 8" of tube on the water hose coming up from the pump as a sprayer aerator.

The high pitched noises are what was left of the beautiful falling water sounds from the single barrel system after youtube got through "processing" it. My Flip video is not known for the best sound quality but it did not sound that bad. Oh well the flip is what I have to use.

Great to see the updates! Looking wonderful and inspiring as usual. Looks like Annabell was enjoying an afternoon nap haha. Any webpage/book recommendations to read more on your Aquaponic system? Our move is only about one month away and I can't wait to get all of that done and to get started on our way to building something like what you have!!!
