It seems to me that the"Superfly" soundtrack and the movie are a perfect marriage since Curtis Mayfield expresses the essence of what this movie depicts:A major dope hustler at a point of his life when he decides that hustling is the wrong path and wants to move on to better and bigger things.Those who didn't see the movie thinking it was just another thug flick are mistaken!This movie is based on the triumph of the human spirit.Curtis puts it out great!

One of the best gigs I went to in the 80s was a small place where we stood by the stage watching Curtis playing for hours, all his own songs. rip
