why do people keep replying to my comment?? i just simply stated what i feel, because i still use my MPC 2000XL daily to make music, i prefer hardware over software for the most part, thats all.

Hot tip Ableton Beatwizards: you can get an MPC for under 500 dollars and make house on it.

@BlizzardOfTheCoast or you could quit sampling other peoples music and get a guitar bass and drums and make some REAL music... sheesh.

@BlizzardOfTheCoast my point is a sample is a sample no matter what kinda of sampler you use digital or analog....

The only analog sampler is, like, a Mellotron.
I feel like I really shouldn't have to defend sampling in 2011, but it's easy to plagiarize old material with a sampler or just by copying it the old-fashioned way. It takes creativity to take a sample out of context and make something new as much as it takes creativity to write an engaging melody. They are both equally valid forms of musicality. Any idiot can loop a disco track just as any idiot can pick up a guitar and make noise come out of it.
