Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade Part 1

From 1992, here is a look back at the Main Street Electrical Parade. Since there are versions on YouTube from Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland, I thought I'd show a version from Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA. Part One features the opening fanfare and lights off cue, The Blue Fairy, Casey Jr and the Alice In Wonderland unit. This was taped from Town Square.

You absolutely rock for posting this! I first saw the parade in April 1994 & I always smile when I look back at the video my family took of it. I just wish they could bring the parade back to Disneyland with the familiar soundtrack. The last one they used at DCA was horrible.

@SJSharkWannabe Thanks! I miss the MSEP at DL (with original soundtrack) also and it seemed very fitting on the Parade Route and that's what made Disneyland After Dark very special.

The Blue Fairy has been decommishioned. No word yet if a new version is being designed

Hi there, Thanks for putting up this video, I lived in Anaheim, from 81 to 08 and always went to see the parade, when it was presented in the summer at the park. I was there for the original closing and saw it again in DCA but it just was not the same. I even bought a light bulb when they sold them, crazy aren't I? I just wanted to say I'm thrilled that you cared enough to post this, it brings back memories of the happyest yrs of my life enjoying this fabulous parade. Thank you again!

You are very welcome. It was my pleasure. The Main Street Electrical Parade is my all-time favorite and I've seen the parade LOTS of times at Disneyland from my first visit in 1981 all the way to the Farewell Season in 1996. IMO, it should have remained at and should be at DL.

they were only supposed to have msep in california adventure for the park's first summer. however, it's been there ever since. i think it's time to move it back into disneyland, in it's original home.

it's interesting I bought a copy of this very footage from the guy who videotaped it back when he used to have his videos up on ebay. that was back when he'd had permission from Disney about a year or two latert Disney went back on their agreement but he couldn't fight it because it was a verbal agreement w/ nothing in writing except w/ ebay that said he'd had permission from Disney to sell the videos.

@Disneydanny I saw the parade DCA this last March (I went during Spring Break, so it was late March/early April) and was suprised to see that Tinker Bell was leading the parade and not the Blue Fairy.

Actually, they surprised by announcing that, in light of the Disneyland Resort's successful Summer Nightastic promotion, Disney World will adapt that promotion this year and have the Electrical Parade at DCA once again return to WDW's MK, though once again, it will be temporary, just like when the parade came to the MK in 1999.

Only recently has the original Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade seriously surfaced on YouTube. Most TDLEP videos are from the Dreamlights version.
