Song "Distant Worlds" belongs to Nobuo Uematsu, and is sung by Susan Calloway.
Clips from Final Fantasy X belong to Square Enix.

(This is a repost as I did some further editing to the original video)

  • Distant Worlds was XI, not X.

  • Obviously?

  • @vlastislavich Couldn't be too obvious, or you would have changed the title and the description. X and XI are completely different games.

  • But I'm using the XI song to clips from Final Fantasy X, hence, I named the song and then the video source, as with all of my AMVs. I don't see why I would have to declare a song by Guided By Voices was not used in FFX anymore than I should say "Distant Worlds" wasn't. It's just an AMV--why should anyone assume this song is from FFX? And if justjamie knew it was from FFXI, why would she need to say so? I clearly know it too, but it's unrelated to my AMV, I think.

    I just feel it's unecessary.

  • Susan Calloway is better than both Utada Hikaru AND Angela Aki. Especially when she performs live.

  • I like them all pretty equally, for different reasons, but I've never seen any of them live unfortunately.

  • Hey everyone... thx for your nice words about the fun experience of working on the FF project & the live concerts. Now I'm looking forward to the special opportunity to join Nobuo and Arnie for the Chicago show in December. What a cool thing to follow the release of my solo record "Chasin the Sun" (more info on my website & iTunes)

Susan you're one of my favorite singers. I absolutely love your voice! Im so glad I had happened to stumble upon your performance of Suteki da Ne. It was absolutely wonderful! I hope that in the future you will be singing more songs for Final Fantasy :) It would please me to no end.

Opinions really. I never heard Utada or Angela live, but all three women have a different style. Susan Calloway was pretty impressive live when I heard her sing this song along with Suteki Da Ne & Kiss Me Goodbye though.

  • Wow really? This song is so beautiful to me--the first time I heard it, I fell in love instantly! I can't imagine anyone not liking it. Well everyone has their opinion I guess. I'm a HUGE UEMATSU fan too by the way!! I couldn't get enough of his music since I played FF Legend II. I was only about 11 back then... And today some 10 years later, I still absolutely love his music!! All my friends/family already got sick of me playing his music... Oh they'll never understand, sob sob.... JK!!

  • @kilyk Indeed. At the Chicago show, I'd have to say this song was probably tied for my second favorite song, and I've never even played FF XI.

  • @SusanCalloway Was at the show. Super amazing! Hope you'll be there again at the show next August.

  • Now I want to play FFX again.

  • Was there in Chicago, you have an amazing voice, matched only by your own beauty :o)
