So, many, many THOUSANDS of people are all just lying when they say they had clean, drinkable water until neighborhood fracking occurred? The issue IS: An industry that is so powerful it has managed to exempt itself from liability for environmental damage & injuring people, that has made itself exempt from full disclosure -- but nevertheless argues it acts in a 'safe' & responsible manner. What's wrong with that picture? WHY trade short-term boom for some for a long-term catastrophe for many?

The folks in Ohio are waking up to the dangers of hydraulic fracturing. They are seeing earthquakes triggered by waste water injection & instituting stricter regulations. Not only does fracking endanger the water supply, expose residence to toxic chemicals & trigger seismic events, it also takes millions of gallons of water out of the ecosystem. It's not the same as conventional oil.

If there is 10 billion barrles of this stuff and it takes almost 10 billion barrles of energy to extract and refine then it is almost worthless as an energy source.

Yes shale gas is easy to do but it has a low net energy gain that is the big con of shale gas.

Shale Oil has about no net energy gain at all.
