People have been asking my about my AXN Coulds Fly Floater RC plane and how I've set it up so here's a video showing you the details.

Note that I prefer to buy the ARF version with just the airframe and motor, then fit some HXT900 or HobbyKing 10g Orange servos and a 25A ESC that has at least a 3A BEC in it.

If you buy the version with the servos already installed and the 20/25A ESC then you may encounter problems with the BEC not being able to provide enough current to drive all the servos if you really turn up the throws and start throwing the model around.

You should also use a 2200mAH 3S battery of 15-20C for best balance and longest flight-times.

  • I just ordered an AXN FLoater. How long do you think it will take me to fly with the skill and professionalism of the SWMAC crew?

    Regards,

    USA Brent

  • @brentr52 It should be okay. I use a 2200mAH 20-30C battery in mine and the CG is perfect.

  • I have this plane and can't seem to get it to climb past about 75 feet high. I bought the plane with the servo's installed. My battery is a 2200 mah 3 cell lipo. the floater always seems to nose dive even with the battery all the way in the front of the nose of the plane. any suggestions or do these planes always nose dive? It is my first plane I have crashed it about 30 times even hit a tree and still in good shape. But it always has nosedived.???

  • @Lithail Make sure your propeller is on the right way around and make sure you launch it with just half-power. Launch it at about a 30-45 degree angle and get ready to give it a little up elevator once you get your hand back to the transmitter. When you give throttle you have to also give a bit of up because the high-mounted motor will tend to push the nose down a little until the model gains speed.

  • Is that a 3cell or a 4cell lipo also does it glide well if you get it up high and shut off the throttle

  • @rcflyerAds It is a 3-cell pack and yes, it glides very well -- we thermal soar them when there's lift about.

  • @Xjet I hadn't discovered your channel right then...

But everything is just stock except for the ESC, which is around 30A with 3 BEC.
