Having as much funk as I can with this one. I got this 70s type funk sound by rhythmically bouncing, scraping and flexing the bow against the strings 4 times per beat, about 500 hits per minute in this case. Not exactly the way the instrument was intended to be played, but it gets its groove on pretty well for being an ancient Tuvan folk instrument. :)

  • Does anyone have a rag? I need to wipe off some funk after watching this. Good Stuff!

  • @TheWindGinProject Too funny, thanks! Very cool Wind Generation videos you have.... subscribed ! :)

  • I was wondering what kind of bow you a using, it seems different to a violin bow.

  • @TheLyreGuy It was made by the person who made the instrument. But it's held like an "Erhu" bow, and you hold it backwards from the way you'd hold a normal violin bow.... everything about this instrument is a little backwards :)

  • oddmusic ? >>> How do you connect the instrument on ? Jacked or with a microphone???????????

    Great vid

  • Thanks! :) I have a thin piezo pickup that is slid under the bridge (a violin pickup made by David Gage, called The Realist). a 1/8 inch jack plugs into that and has a 1/4 inch jack to plug into an amp, etc.
