Gendron was definitely one of the truly greatest cellists ever.

I also play his D maj cadenza, as do many top cellists. Gendron wrote excellent cadenzas for most of the major concertos, including Schumann, Rococo, Boccherini etc etc

Amazingly precise... I love his playing, and composing for that matter. I always use his cadenza for the Haydn C concerto.
