I think that control a Puppet master is pretty easy. As for me I think that you don't really need to keep distance with puppet master and the most important think is use R2 + O .

the difficulty about the puppet masters is to control them with speed. ;)

The two most importan things are, to attack, you should only attack with triangle x, because then he's at the enemy in an instant, and if your enemy gets close to you just press R2 and your puppet gets into defense and is right befor you in an instant, then und can back up and press triangle x backwards

and always try to keep the distance with puppet masters ;)
