Moon Walk for the Moon Bears Anmals Asia Southampton Sept 2011

A short video of the supporters of Animals Asia Foundation in Southampton on 18th Sept 2011 doing a moon walk to raise money fo the moon bears. Just having a bit of fun and raising awareness and funds for Animals Asia. We had a great day and spaoke to lots of people and dog walkers about the Foundation.

Moon Bears are gentle bears found in China, living up to 40 years in the wild. Chinese herbalists catch the bears in snares to extract their bile from their gall bladders, keeping them in tiny cages for over 20 years in barbaric conditions, often in total darkness where they are deprived of food and water.

www.animalsasia.org rescues these bears, rehabilitates them and lets them live their final years in peace and happiness in the sanctuary. There are 10,000 Moon Bears in cages yet to be saved but to date 277 bears have been rescued and 43 farms closed.

Every penny goes to animals Asia who work tirelessly to rescue the bears. You can follow the Moon Bear rescue on their web site and see the bears enjoying their freedom, playing on the grass and on climbing frames and hammocks.

With your support the dedicated Animals Asia volunteers, and can continue to rescue and care for the Moon Bears so that they can live out the rest of their days lying in the sun watching the sky, the stars and the moon and for the first time in their lives have a peaceful and comfortable nights sleep.
