Biography:
SNAIL is a Rock N Roll band formed by Bob ONeill (Singer /Songwriter, Rhythm & Lead Guitars), Ron Fillmore (drums), and Dave Kibler (bass) in 1967 out of Santa Cruz, California.

They were a Cream-style power trio. In 1968 Ken Kraft was brought aboard (Singer /Songwriter, Rhythm & Lead Guitars). Bob ONeill and Ken Kraft would become the nucleus of the band sustaining SNAIL into the 80s.

SNAIL underwent many personnel changes in bassists and drummers through-out the 70s, most notably; Larry Hosford (bass,singer/songwriter), Brett Bloomfield (bass, Elvin Bishop Band, Tom Johnston Band, Starship and Ian Gillian), Jim Norris (drums Lacy J. Dalton), and Don Baldwin (drums Elvin Bishop Band, Tom Johnston Band, Jefferson Starship, Starship, and Lydia Pense Band)

SNAIL played the club circuit in the San Francisco bay area till 1981. In 1978 & 1979 SNAIL released two albums (Snail and Flow respectively) worldwide with considerable success.

SNAIL performed live on American Bandstand with their signature song The Joker. SNAIL was the opening act for Styx on a national tour in 1980. SNAIL has opened for The Doobie Brothers, Santana,Ted Nugent & The Amboy Dukes, Joy Of Cooking, Canned Heat, The Marshall Tucker Band, Freddie King, Taj Mahal, John Mayall Band, Charlie Daniels Band, and West, Bruce and Laing, among others. SNAIL has been joined on stage by The Grateful Dead, Carlos Santana, Freddie King and Lindsay Buckingham.

In 1981 legal issues brought on by a bankrupt record label forced SNAIL to virtually retire the name. They played as The Millionaires, and as The Shell Boys for a short time before the band disbanded. Just a step away from that big break they deservedly earned. Bob ONeill, Ken Kraft, and Ron Fillmore, and Larry Hosford all have stayed in contact and several reunions of SNAIL have sold out Santa Cruz and San Jose venues. They have all gone in different directions, working on personal projects in a variety of areas in the field of music.

It has always been a pet project of Bob ONeills to revive SNAIL. In the spring of 2009 this became a reality. Bob ONeill, Ron Fillmore along with Guido Valverde started rehearsing and by that summer SNAIL was hitting the stages again. A legion of club owners and a vast army of loyal fans alike all over Northern California can be overheard exclaiming; Hey, have you heard? SNAIL is back!
