Acne Diet Is Diet Related?

This is a huge question that all acne sufferers have on their minds, acne diet is diet related? In some circumstances diet is not related to acne, I know of some people that have ate healthy foods and suffered from acne, but they could have acne for other reasons. There are many reasons why someone may suffer from acne. Stress, puberty, and hot weather are to name a few.

There have been many debates about whether diet plays a role in acne. Although it is now becoming clearer that food may not directly cause acne, but it seems to be the chemicals released from the foods during the digestion process. Those chemicals can influence acne or make the existing acne worse.

Eating a lot of fat can cause you to get acne, and make existing acne worse. You need to make sure you do not eat foods high in fat, but still have some intake of healthy fats. Eating too much fat is also a reason for blood sugar problems. It causes your blood sugar levels to swing, meaning the levels go too high and drop too low. Too much fat in the bloodstream slows down the transportation of nutrients and oxygen to the cells, meaning your cells won't get the right level on nutrients and oxygen as they need, which can aggravate acne.

If you are an acne sufferer then dairy is probably one of the worst foods you can eat. Dairy usually contains a lot of fat (cheese and ice cream especially). Milk can be one of the worst for acne. Milk in most if not all cases, comes from pregnant cows. Milk from cows that are pregnant contain hormones. Certain enzymes in your skin glands convert those hormones into Dihydrotestosterone hormone (DHT). Sebum production at skin glands is boosted by DHT. Those hormones that are in the milk increase the sebum production indirectly, which does usually lead to acne in some people.

So there you have it, acne diet is it related? Well, not directly, but yes bad diet can lead to acne.

  • @quitelostinlove Hey, thanks for watching my video! Have you tried cutting down your milk intake and switching cows milk for goats milk? Also you may want to watch my video 'how to avoid pimples' as i have got some very good tips in that video. You could check out my website (link in the description) for more information and resources. If you go to the category 'acne reviews' I have reviewed some very good products in there. Good luck!

  • I see that milk is a big no-no for acne sufferers. But I really really like milk ( i have up to two cups of coffee made purely with instant coffee powder, milk and sugar, no water). I don't eat much of cheese and sometimes yogurt. Since you said the fat in the milk is the problem, is it ok to have skim milk, fat free dairy products?? please reply asap. I have serious acne and acne scarring since 3 years. I haven't found a single product that has helped me. Thanks in advance.
