  • Why would 'native' Venezuelans not perform the national dance? One of the biggest challenges we face today in Latin-sic America, is the intrusion of Anglosaxon Protestant Missionaries and Linguists-Anthropologists making OUR people THEIRS. In addition, they instill in our natives the feeling that 'THEY ARE A DIFFERENT NATION', as if we were still in the times of World Fairs. The reference that 'it's natives' dancing the Venezuelan national dance, is rather offensive for natives and Miraflores.
