Many years has passed, and this particular scene still give me the goosebumps.

The voice is great in this and only this. Whoever wrote this monologue has some serious mental conditions, most likely Mr. Anno, who we all know is insane, like us. We see and hear this, and somehow we can relate, even though the purpose is fabrication, and understand, even though we are human. Are you lost yet? We exist because it is all we have to do, but reality holds us down in place, so we create extensions of reality which reflect how we wish ourselves to be, and yet we feel lost without

Very interesting monologue, gives much insight into Rei's mind and how she question what/who she is past how she is seen by others... "This is the me that can be seen, yet I feel as though I am not myself."
