Seelenloses viel zu schnelles Tempo (Oboe). Die Partitur gibt viel mehr an innererer Tiefe her und ein Abfuchteln der Hände (Gestiken) kann diese vertanen Chancen auch nicht retten.
The oboists conducts himself and the orchestra in such a way that it looses it's purpose. The line and the chromatic tension is suppose to carry through and physically altering your playing makes the line altered musically. One of my favorite oboe excerpts ever but not necessarily this performance.
the whole performance, not only the oboist, is very annoing in my opinion. I miss the russian touch, here its only nice to hear, but without the deepness that is possible. I prefer the version of the wdr sinfony orchestra conducted by rudolph barshai.
I just love the 3rd movement - so lovely... I remain amazed that a 19 year old student could write such a wonderful piece.

Ansonsten großartiges Orchester
