HELP! Will any IR circuit sensor's voltage output, with IR LED and phototransistor, vary with distance between object and sensor? I've got a schematic for an active IR sensor, but I don't know whether it only gives 1 voltage output, i.e. 12volt if something is blocking the signal.

you said that you were blocking disrupting the infrared, but arent you doing the opposite and emitting more into the detector?

@zabawla Now that I think about it, yes probably. The main thing is that it is interfering with the infrared, which is what I actually said in the video. The decoded gets used to (calibrates) the amount of infrared within the first 5 seconds, and then when it changes-- whether it be more or less-- the output will fluctuate.

Hello fellow engineer.....Well I'm working with a Arduino Mega, and i have a infared circuit with basically the same components, just some added caps and a OpAmp......I'm having trouble with my code....could i email u a sample and possibly u can make some tips, would like 2 hear from u asap please.
