I'm using an Arduino microcontroller, and an IR Emitter/Detector pair (purchased from Radioshack) to create a Proximity sensor. I'll post more info soon!

  • Can you send me the code?

  • @lucianoaac Yeah lemme know where to!

  • you said that you were blocking disrupting the infrared, but arent you doing the opposite and emitting more into the detector?

  • @zabawla Now that I think about it, yes probably. The main thing is that it is interfering with the infrared, which is what I actually said in the video. The decoded gets used to (calibrates) the amount of infrared within the first 5 seconds, and then when it changes-- whether it be more or less-- the output will fluctuate.

  • Hello fellow engineer.....Well I'm working with a Arduino Mega, and i have a infared circuit with basically the same components, just some added caps and a OpAmp......I'm having trouble with my code....could i email u a sample and possibly u can make some tips, would like 2 hear from u asap please.

  • @Caretakerla Hello, you can get the code from my blog at

  • @Caretakerla domoarigatomissesmicherro.tumblr.com/post/1642076856/project-5-prototype-inputs-output let me know if this doesn't work. fd

  • can u pls tell me the codes for this

  • wow, that's awesome. can i please have a copy of the code and schematics? i wanna try it too :)

  • can you post the code on comment

  • @2012daffyduck

    seconded...

MissChelleShock - will you marry me ?? lol

  • OMG, you're a chick and doing an Arduino Project... thats awesome.. <3

  • HELP! Will any IR circuit sensor's voltage output, with IR LED and phototransistor, vary with distance between object and sensor? I've got a schematic for an active IR sensor, but I don't know whether it only gives 1 voltage output, i.e. 12volt if something is blocking the signal.

  • Do you have a scheme for the komponents?

Where can i find the code?

  • i need source code please
