@sedatedcoho Hmm, the last history books I read on the Vietnam war stated that the South Vietnamese needed our help fighting the North Vietnamese...so we sent troops to South Vietnam to help combat the growing North Vietnamese aggression. If we wanted to " invade " North Vietnam and " control " it then the US would have just blew it too pieces with its far far far superior airforce ( ask the Japanese in WW2 ). So how does the US compare it self to Nazi Germany in this case?

America was the invader and aggressor no different to Nazi Germany as the invader and aggressor of Poland, therefore the Vietcong were simply defending their country from a foreign invader just after defending the country from other foreign invaders - the French and Japanese. If your country was invaded tomorrow, you'd do the same.
