16th & 17th Nov 2001, Festspielhaus Hellerau, Dresden, CYNETart-Festival

For the CYNETart 2001, the piece "Zone" was produced by Pablo Ventura in collaboration with the Ventura Dance Company (CH), the team robotlab from Karlsruhe and other sound and multimedia artists. For the first time, there will be a complex use of very different interface systems. With a further developed version of the software "Live Forms", Ventura choreographed a world wide unique project of a piece for dancers and robots. "Zone" therefore moves into a context which historically reaches far back, and questions histrionics, body and psyche. It started with Heinrich von Kleist's reflections upon the puppet theater, went on with Oscar Schlemmer's "Triadic Ballet" and ended with the implantation of an artificial intelligence in robotics.

Sponsored by the foundation Kulturstiftung Dresden of the Dresdner Bank and Schweizer Kulturstiftung Pro Helvetia, presidial department of Zurich, canton Zurich - Fachstelle Kultur und Migros Kulturprozent, Production European workshop for art and culture Hellerau e.V., co-operation-concept and root idea: Klaus Nicolai.
