I'm hooked! A Hybrid battery backup system is awesome. I really enjoyed the 3 days I spent working with the installers from Sunstore Solar! This system can handle as inputs the following - AC from Grid or generator or enphase, DC from Solar, Wind or Hydro .
This system cost ~ 24k but the tax incentives and credits cut it in half!

  • crap, I am one of the lower echelon of the 99%....I can't even afford a chain saw, I am screwed...

  • @blossombogart2 I can't afford it either. It is a luxury item that is not necessary to make it. It was done for a retired couple in their 70s. They just want to survive in style! Thanks for watching!

  • The more I watch these videos the more I realize I am a moron. lol...feel free to eat my dead body when I starve or freeze to death. ;) lol

  • is the new panel a "sub" panel from the main? I'm only asking because I saw your neutral bar bonding jumper installed. I sure would not think that new panel is solar/battery powered only?

  • @freakshow2000 the panel is solar/battery powered primarily. The inverter in setup to power that panel by battery or grid or generator etc. It is a very flexible system. Thanks for watching!

  • I was wanting to know what do I need to have? solar panel thru the tv I am watching

Step by step on grid and off grid

  • The single inverter and single charge controller make this a bad system from a TEOTWAWKI point of view. Redundancy in excess is your friend.

  • Hi I have a question. Ive heard you talk about EMP in the past, and Faraday cages. If an EMP were to occur, due to a solar flare or some kind of power station malfunction, would that render the solar system useless. If so how might you protect against this? Disconection from the grid, would that be enough, or would it be feasable to surround the house in somekind of makeshift Faraday cage? Good luck from the UK.

  • When i get ready to build my home i'm hiring you...just fyi lol.

  • @mikemorrison281 ...LOL

  • Great video my Friend... That is very cool that you had the chance to setup a hybrid system. I am getting ready to double my PV output to 2.6 KW.. The grid tie with battery backup is the best part. The less you cycle your battery bank the more life you get. Thanks for sharing as always...

  • Always better to be safe than sorry! Great video!
