I've recently discovered that Anwar al Awlaki seems very knowledgeable about Islam. Perhaps he can answer this question. According to Sahih (the correct) Muslim Hadith, Muhammad said that the devil sleeps in your nose at night. But, if so, wouldn't that mean the devil is omnipresent being that there are billions of people who sleep at the same time on the planet? Or, was Muhammad talking about A devil that can be removed by cleaning your nose three times? Muslim 2:462, "When any one awakens from sleep he must clean his nose three times, for the devil spends the night in the interior of his nose."

  • All the way up your noise there is your brain. That's why ancient Egyptians took a deceased person's brains out through their noise. So maybe Muhammad was saying that your brain is the devil.

  • @beproudtobebipolar

Well, it IS the brain that makes you wonder why Muhammad would say the sun "asks permission to RISE again". Of course, IF the brain IS the devil, does that mean if you clean your nose three times to get the devil out of your nose, you're removing your brain?

  • @ItsAmadWorld2,

Either you are a genius or a corporate spokesman for The Kleenex Corporation.

To answer your question: Is It A Devil Or THEE Devil That Sleeps In Your Nose?

The Kafir are actually sleeping in your nose, & everytime you blow it you make more!

  • I was lead to believe that the more terrorist Muslims you kill, the more you make. By the way, maybe Muhammad meant to say HITLER sleeps in your nose and NOT the devil, because, every time you blow your nose, out comes snazis.

  • like jewish dietary laws, i think this is a great example of "religious healthcare", ie tips writtin into the texts to keep oneself healthy. The bible, the koran, and myriads of other religious texts CAN'T be taken literally, (ask any non-extremist religious scholar) and are meant to be interpreted. Germ theory didn't exist until about 1025ad, and wasn't widely known until much later. What better way to ensure the health of your populace than to reference illness causing mucus as "the devil"?

  • So, is it the devil? No, it'snot.

  • Instead of calling him Satan, I think I'll just call him snot for sleeping in my nose. Hey, maybe "the devil is Muhammad's name FOR snot? I mean, LIKE the devil, you can blow and blow and pick and pick, but, if you've got a cold, it comes back...like the devil. By the way, Muhammad also said the devil pees in your RIGHT ear at night. It must not be much pee IF he can sleep in your nose, true?

  • okay i have read the hadith you are quoting clean your nose thrice because it is sunnah to wash each body part thrice during Wudu or during taking bath or even only washing hands. And it could be devil = satan=Shayṭān( it is actually characteristic name it has many different meanings you can find of wikipedia)(actual name Iblis) him self or it could be dirt. The whole thing is when you wake up clean your nose thrice to get it cleaned okay brother.

  • Israeel is doing all this under the nose of un and with underthe hand of USA
