RED BARON BAND new album REFLECTiONS
International release announcement

Those who are familiar with Prague hard rock scene in last 2o years, knows about Jan Holecek (aka Ian Hunter), singer, songwriter and multiinstrumentalist, who was in bands Freeway Jam and Black Rain in 199os. Before 2ooo AD he joined his former fans in new band called Red Baron. Those were guitar player and singer Paul Kowacz (Pavel Kovac) and drummer Ray Miner (Radek Hornik). Together they recorded First Album (RBB Records / Avik 2ooo), with bassist Mechy and Dutch saxophone player Pieter Van Houte. After three years there was second album In The Light (RBB Records / Indies 2oo3) with guests Zuzana Michnova (from Marsyas), jazzman Emil Vilicky (moog) ans several czech wind players.

Then Jan Holecek and Red Baron Band divided ways. Honza Holecek went for family life and subsequently joined members of Czech rock legend Flamengo on stage of Roxy club in Prague for one-off reunion of Kure v hodinkach (Chicken in the Clock) album line-up. Holecek substituted there for singer Vladimir Misik, singing lyrics by Czech poet Josef Kainar, and also for organ player and singer Ivan Khunt, who died shortly before. At the same time he joined renewed Energit band and now he is a member of guitar player Lubos Andrst Blues Band, playing frequently in Prague jazzclubs.

Red Baron choose new singer and harmonica player Miroslav Jech and made third album Music Must Change (RBB Records / Avik 2oo6), again with some of young open minded Czech jazzmen. Song Zero For Ever from that album was chosen by American Quickstar Productions for their Rock 4 Life International Volume 7 cd compilation. Band also won listeners contest Hope of Beat on Czech rock radio station BEAT.
Over two years took preparation of fourth album Reflections (RBB Records / Avik 2o1o). Ten new songs (about 45 minutes) were recorded in 3 different Czech studios during years of 2oo8-o9. Author is mostly Paul Kowacz, lyrics are exclusively in English and band benefits there on expanding line-up with regular Hammond organ and other keyboard instruments (mellotron, moog, piano and analog synthesisers) player Mikulas Cimbura. Before release of that album in January 2o1o, Mirek Jech left the band and was replaced by charismatic Monika Infernalis, who gives another wiev to songs like Like A Little Child. She was singing with psychedelic jam band The Paid before. Jech is now guesting with RBB occasionally, as well as Jan Holecek (on vocals and other instruments) and Frech guitar player James Mac Gaw of Magma family, living partly in Prague now.

Red Baron Band shared the stage with Czechoslovak rock legends Marian Varga, Progres 2 or Blue Effect, they were also playing together with SBB from Poland, Twin Dragons from US or UKs Danny Bryants Red Eye Band. Current plans are for frequent Prague and around club gigs, as well as some prog rock festivals in Europe.
