@mrinnervisionz True, you didn't specifically compare them. But, about a video of Stevie, you said you idolize them both, which suggests parity. SW stands alone in pop for the harmonic sophistication of many of his songs. Plus the guy can play jazz, which is a whole other thing. RJ was good at what he did, which was play bass & write some intricate poppy funk, which for the most part, never got past high school in terms of lyrical content.

@fretbuzz59 I never said Rick James was comparible 2 Stevie Wonder,hell,nobody is or ever will be! I think a lot of you all don't know how great of an musician,singer/songwriter,arranger & producer Rick James was.

@fretbuzz59 I agree that NOBODY is in a league with Stevie Wonder,but I am curious as to what league would you put Rick James in? Rick James & El DeBarge have always been underrated as singers,songwriters,multi-instrumentalist,producers & arrangers. Rick James was badass,& he never got the respect that he so richly deserved.
