they looked and sounded like women...their mannerisms and everything...so clever!

I really dislike drag acts and most female impersonators. However, Hinge & Brackett WERE IN A CLASS OF THEIR OWN! I regard them as brillant actors and singers/musicians. I saw them `live` a few times notably at Sadlers Wells . If you can imagine one scene with George Logan as Dame Hilda playing Bette Davis in `THE ANNIVERSARY` which was so funny but even cleverer.
