What was once considered a beautiful building is now nothing but a pile of ashes and burned to the ground.
This morning. Monday July 12, the ruins of the two-story wooden U.S. Forest Service building were still smoldering.
Fire engulfed the US Forest Service Building in Enterprise, Oregon late afternoon on Sunday July 11.
Smoke could be seen just prior to towering flames coming out of the South end of the large structure.
The Enterprise Fire Department aided by Joseph and other agencies could be seen trying to contain the fire in the log structure.
Initially when flames jetted out 40-50 feet on the South end the flames appeared to die down briefly before more fire trucks arrived.
Officials of the Oregon state fire marshal's office are expected to arrive today to begin an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
