HEAL Africa | Safe Motherhood Program

Every five minutes a woman dies in childbirth in Congo. In Eastern Congo, an area torn apart by war and gender-violence, the HEAL Africa Safe Motherhood team is working to provide quality healthcare for every expecting mother. With better healthcare and reproductive control, health problems decrease, family sizes drop, and women are empowered to plan for their futures.One village at a time we are establishing micro-insurance programs that guarantee proper pregnancy and birthing healthcare. In one region in just one year the Safe Motherhood initiative reduced maternal mortality by 99.9%. That's right. 99.9% of maternal deaths were prevented. In the same area neonatal deaths were reduced by 98%. This season give the gift of safe motherhood to women in Congo. Support HEAL Africa's Safe Motherhood program.
