The death of Kris McElhenny on Mother's Day 2002 spurred his mother, Tina McElhenny, to work diligently on a motorcycle safety campaign to get other motorists to pay more attention to motorcycles.

Five years later her dream is realized with the "Be Nice, Look Twice and Save a Life" Florida Motorcycle Safety Awareness Campaign

  • We need to increase penaltys for tailgating , and agressive driving against motorcycles. I also get cut off and tailgated freqently. Its very disconcerning. I had a guy in a Mercedes SUV tailgate me so close I swear I could of reached around and touched the grill on his truck. He kept this up for about a half a mile. If caught he should have been arrested. This crap has got to stop !

  • @chsusa07 Need harsher punishments. If the guy causes you to crash, and you break your leg.....he should be strapped down and some fucker should come over and break his leg. Then see how many people do shit like this. Eye for an eye. The last thing we need is more taxes or police trying to solve problems.

  • Sorry for your loss. There's no doubt automobile drivers need to be educated on looking for motorcycles.

  • Other motorists have to be more aware of riders on the road but the reality is that riders have to be super aware for themselves and for those who are not aware. As a rider, I don't take anything for granted because I realize that only me paying attention for myself and not paying attention for others, even though that is also their responsibility, can and will get me killed. That is the reality of being a rider.
