@V8Supercar1 trudat. keep in mind...lots of respect to all cars.

@harryfritter: Yes efficiency is the future. But there will always be a market for sports cars and supercars. You say ultimately American cars are shit? So how is it that a "shit car" actually does some things better than a euro car thats not shit?? Maybe the european car is shit. Or maybe the american car isnt so shit. I guess. A lot of you brits don't seem to understand how to judge a car with its price tag in mind. Different cars (sports cars and super cars) are aimed at different markets.

@V8Supercar1 ....efficiency is the future of the car, dull but true.
Ultimately American cars are shite that only appeal to americans where as european cars have class and are the envy of the world.
And of course, while extracting too much power out of small capacity 4 & 6 cyl motors, Europe turns out world beating V8, V12, W8, W12 & W16 too, (and they'll all handle too)

all of the bias from my fellow americans is probably due to the constant hate towards american cars and people but most comments and reviews seem to be a little biased towards or against this car. .Sure the 458 is more of a car but it can be 2 1/2 to 3 times as expensive. i swear some people start to sound like the north koreans in lisa ling's documentary who were taught to think that americans are bad and to kill them and yes i said north korea and lisa's sister was captured find it on oprah.

@derbigpr500 You know, there was a French mag that tested these cars, including the 2011 ZR1 (yes, with no tires upgrade), and the ZR1 came out on top of the 2012 GT-R, 458 Italia, and GT3RS. You keep denying the ZR1's potential against these kind of cars, and that sometimes it's even biased, but the facts are out there for everyone to see. People who own these cars are even beating these magazine drivers at 1/4 mile, meaning the car may even have more potential than we know.
-
@derbigpr500 Did you know that Jeremy Clarkson is putting on a comedy show for British people. He himself loves the ZR1, but his people doesn't. That's why he will say anything he can against American cars. He can't keep the car under control when he drives it, apparently. Yet you see this "engineer" putting that power to the ground pretty damn well. Also, Randy Pobst when he was at the wheel of the ZR1. Like I said, there's something out there called 'skills.'
-
@derbigpr500 Why is it biased? Autocar made a similar acceleration test between the GT2 and ZR1 on a mile=long acceleration test ON BAD ASPHALT, and the ZR1 was keeping up pretty well. Now you can clearly see what happens when they're both put on good asphalt. If it wasn't for the bad asphalt, the ZR1 would've pulled harder on the GT2. Did you notice what happened when autocar did a rolling start? Same thing that happened on MotorTrend's mile-long test. And you say it was biased. Absurd..

@derbigpr500 You keep bringing up the tires when comparing the 458 to the ZR1, but you fail to bring up the DCT the 458 has compared to the 6-spd manual. Have you noticed that? How about the lighter weight the 458 has over the ZR1? .. Did you just say the ZR1 was tuned for its lap time?? O-M-G, wow.. The ZR1 takes a lot more skills to drive than the 458, the more reason why it's more of a real driver's car; that's why they used a professional, to exploit the car's performance.
the cornering at 181 mph scared me and i'm watching it on my phone :-X

@xj220se Agreed! That and the gumpert is supposed to be aerodynamically unsurpassed and have perfect weight balance.
