This is a video shot on Nov 4th 2007, while at my GF's gaff.

As you can see, it's bouncing with activity from the Fire Brigade at the time. Made for pretty interesting listening while she was watching Casualty, lol.

Enjoy!

  • Yep,

They're a great scanner, but can suffer breakthrough from a strong local station such as a taxi firm a couple of streets away, it's not quite as resilient as the 7100 for breakthrough. Basically, they're a bit "kitchen sink" (as in they have everything but the) as there is so much coverage crammed in there.

Putting it straight into a long wire antenna or G5RV overloads it and it begins to fall over, but with an ATU in place to reduce sensitivity it does a reasonable job.

  • What a great scanner! I've read a lot about Yupiteru MVT-9000 but this is the first time I have actually got some ears-on experience on this great scanner. It sounds terrific for a hanld-held scanner and I was wondering how it sounds like on HF ssb stations. Thanks!

  • Yeah right Mr Fez,

    Sure you wouldn't lad....

    *cough cough* ;-)

  • naughty naughty. I would never do such a thing! hint hint nudge nudge.
