First issued in 1939, along with the SMLE saw extensive service during WWII. This particular example was built by BSA Co. (Birmingham Small Arms) at the Shirley plant. This is a later example since it has the simple L flip aperture sight versus the micro-adjustable aperture of the 1941 models. BSA Co. was also known for manufacturing Sten sub-machine guns and Browning machine guns for the war effort. This example also features the lightened bolt handle also found on the No. 5 Mk I "jungle carbine" which BSA also produced. Bolt action rifle with a removable 10 round magazine (typically loaded via stripper clips), the Lee Enfield is a classic WWII rifle known for its accuracy and reliability.

  • Hey! I got one exactly like it! Shoots awsome! They're still around, just have to keep looking.

  • @villainpingouin Thanks, they are nice rifles. I have a few more and some No 1 Mk III's.

  • Is that all matched parts ?

  • @7511232 No, I wish it was all matching. Bought this from Allan's Armory in FL.

  • nicer with .308 cheaper AMMO

    Look for India version re-bore

  • @CharlieDoan I reload and have a few other Enfields so .303 Brit is fine for my purposes. Thanks

  • so jealous, was gonna buy one tomorrow but the poor thing was sporterized

  • @TaZ101SAGA Working, I live in the USA so its pretty easy to get working surplus rifles. The only items that are commonly De-act or De-milled are certain class III weapons like machine guns, mortars, rocket launchers, that type of stuff. I bought this Enfield from Allan Schisel. Look him up on Google under Alan's Armory he might be able to help you if you want to acquire a later style Enfield like this.

  • Is this working or a De-act? I wish mine had the L sight, i am stuck with the micro sight for 300/600+ yards.

  • @jeffshootsstuff Thanks, I'll post up some more Enfields. Great rifles.
