  • Hey My friend I can see a lot of mistakes you made.First one was you took the flask out while it was supper hot.I am asuming the temp was 1300 degrees. plus you are not using a rubber gasket.I like your tools thyough keep trying.

  • hi,

I had using polymer mold and latex mold. but when I withdraw wax the wax broke out in peices plz help what kind of material you are using in making mold , and furthet if you are using mold release. please help

    from Bhupesh Handa (India)

  • I would strongly reccommend the use of a particle respirator for flask quenching - silica is extremely dangerous. Secondly, you should give the flask about 5 mins. before quenching. The metal was still moving in the flask. There are probably a zillion ways to screw up a casting run, I think I'm 1/2 way there. Nothing hurts more than losing an original that you've spent a hundred hours on, and I have. It just takes time, materials and practice. Be patient. Cynthia

  • Did you use a casting gasket? If you don't use a gasket, its almost impossible to get a good seal. I actually use dampened paper towel for my gaskets, although they sell silicon ones. Also, what metal are you casting? The flask looks WAY too Hot for silver, gold or bronze. If it was any of those, your mold needs to be at around 1000 F to get the best results. Good luck on your future castings.
