The People you see in this video gave me permission to video and take photos of them.

3 questions I ask them.

1. Name

3. choose one word to describe how you feel.

Homeless in the United States

"there are between 30,000 and 7,000,000 homeless people in America. unemployment, alcoholism, drug abuse, mental illness, and so on. The argument is that the homeless people are responsible for their own condition, for example, all alcoholics and drug addicts do not become homeless, so This means alcoholism or other reasons, cannot be the only cause of homelessness.

Unemployment

Homelessness is a complex problem, so not all homelessness is caused by one particular reason. First, the most serious cause of homelessness is unemployment. According to a 1993 report by the U.S. conference of Mayors, " About 60% of homeless population works and is still homeless. "Their average income is less than $176 per month.

• single men comprise 44 percent of the homeless, single women 13 percent, families with children 36 percent, and unaccompanied minors seven percent.
•the homeless population is about 50 percent African-American, 35 percent white, 12 percent Hispanic, 2 percent Native American and 1 percent Asian.
According to the 1996 National Survey of Homeless Assistance Providers and Clients (NSHAPC):
•single homeless individuals in 1996 reported an average income of $348 during the last 30 days, about 51 percent of the 1996 federal poverty level of $680/month for one person.
•28 percent said they sometimes or often do not get enough to eat, compared with 12 percent of poor American adults.
•44 percent did paid work during the past month.
•21 percent received income from family members or friends.
•66 percent of the homeless have problems with alcohol, drug abuse, or mental illness.
•22 percent have been physically assaulted.
•7 percent have been sexually assaulted.
•38 percent say someone stole money or things directly from them.
•30 percent have been homeless for more than two years.

  • What a pile of self-congratulatory crap. I donate a LOT of money to charities every year (hundreds of dollars), including homeless shelters. But, I don't film myself doing it. You make sure to turn on your camera before holding out the money. That is sickening. Get over yourself, and give selflessly. You don't even realize how pretentious you are being. You even used 20% of this video to show us model poses of yourself. WTF!?!

  • @EdgunUSA and what do you do? oh yeah you film yourself shooting pigeons, and watching them fall to the ground suffering. these animals have nothing but there skins and life to hold on to and even that you take away from them. i made a video of me giving and your trying to make me feel bad about myself. yet here you are killing animals because you can, and your better then me.... how???????

  • Very heart breaking. I've drove by many homeless. I used to always give our money to homeless people, but when I got broke, I became quite conservative and so, I stop. It is so hard for me to look at homeless people. I get a teary eye when I look at them. Not all of them are lazy no good folks.

  • Half of them are lazy bums. The other half are lazy crazy bums.

  • you have a kind heart. Me personally I've seen a homeless person or two. Never gave them money. We were all born with nothing. Either inherited by our parents or have to work for it.

Why dont you buy them food next time. You gave them change they probably save up and use it to buy crack or alcohol. Anyways keep doing what you're doing my hmong brother.

  • At the end I was like: "lol is that supposed to be a man or a women!?"

  • I usually toss coins to them..

  • @spcjjj I totally agree with you!!!

  • As much as I feel the need to sympathize with them, honestly, I have litte. There are different kinds: those who can change, but prefer otherwise; those who were forced into; and those who simply can't change. All I have to say is there is hope. If they can write "Hungry" or "I NEED HELP" they can make something out of it. If they have the will to begin a new life, they will change, and it's not from begging for mercy.

  • Between 30,000 and 7,000,000? Seriously that's a 970thousand grey area get your statistics straight I couldn't even watch the video

  • some people are homeless and have to live with so called friends who use and abuse them some prefer sleeping under a bridge some a makeshift camp some the mission and other sleep at churches at night halfway houses and homes where they take their id foodstamps and checks they recieve with little given back to them others find abandoned buildings and buildings that are being constructed 70% are alcholic drug abusers 20% are mentally ill 10% just down on their luck and eventually come up it sucks
