They were trying to get a Bo Diddley-type sound on this one
-
The first time I heard this on a compilation album featuring tunes with a "Bo Diddley" beat, it sounded quite strange, but I quickly got hooked on it. The lyrics are a hoot, but it's hard to keep still to this one. Thanks for posting this!

Yeah...must have listened to Cherokee Dance and the voice is astounding sound-a-like. lol

Like you never forget bicycling!

Yep pal, I know this one.I haven't heard it for about 25 years. But such a great song I'll never forget!
-
I've seen it but the sound quality here is better. "...take tree steps faowad and baow you head...by this time ya faces red, grab you gal and spinn aroun' takes tree steps and the squat out, as you straighten up your feet..." ULTRA, ULTRA KOOL!

# 1 on my top list now. A GEM! So kool it's unbelievable. ;O)

Thanx so much for posting this. I love it! I had a copy 30 years ago & it got away from me. Searchin to buy a copy, I got a real surprise: I found a cover of it by Canned Heat- a dual sided 45 DJ copy, United Artists 50927, it's fast & furious. Wish someone would post it also. My copy skips with old needle.
Any chance getting "The Spiders" on Speciality too!! Said to be a real great band from the '50s. Thanks

Good shout but I think The Spiders were on Imperial, though like many Speciality acts they were from New Orleans..

I've got Rene Hall's 'Flippin'' which also features Willie Joe on his unitar, not to meantion the flips of this one and that one. I should get round to putting 'Flippin'' up at least.
