@jacknsally11 When my birds are babies I constantly put my finger in their mouths, if they lick it I give them a treat, if they bite down I say No, and don't give them a treat.
Cage aggression is an issue with many birds. Maybe try taking her out and feeding her away from her cage. Also if she comes willingly always reward her.

@kwaziibabii I have heard of this situation. If you go with a normal macaw like a Scarlet, B&G or Greenwing, I don't think you will have any issues.
Only birds that are at risk of being stolen are rare/expensive macaws like Hyacinths or Hybrid Macaws. I am getting a hybrid, so I plan to microchip the bird just to be safe.
I've recommend a Blue/Gold Macaw, they are absolute goof balls and very smart.

@jacknsally11 Where are you located? Do you ever find macaws in need of homes?

What a cutie! If I were brave enough to get a large parrot, I think it would be a macaw. :-)

You are really lucky to have him! He sure has a lot of personality!
We found Jack at a petshop in Ohio when he was 10 years old. At that time, he already had a large vocabulary. He learned other words quickly. We have a B/G female that is 10 years old and she doesn't talk nearly as much as Jack. We were told that when we enter the room in the morning, say the word that you want the parrot to say. That's when they are really paying attention. We were so lucky to find Jack!

Does he/she ever bite? and does it hurt? i want one and it looks like they have a nasty bite, mind you i have an alligator snapping turtle so fear is out the question which i was never bitten from, im just wondering if it's in their nature to be aggresive? :O tyy

@zecrid Yes, Jack will bite and it does hurt. He doesn't like visitors so when they come near his cage, he will lunge at them. Once in awhile, he will do this to us but we just ask him what he thinks he's doing and he stops. lol We handle and play with Jack everyday but still we don't trust him no to bite. We have a female B/G and she is cage aggressive. I would hate to get bit by her. lol

I don't knoww what to do but i know that ii really want this bird but i dont want it to get stolen either, do you know of many macaws being stolen ? thankyouu

@kwaziibabii Hi,We have never heard of ayyone we know geting a macaw stolen. I would like to see someone try to steal our birds lol. If they are not familiar with you they would try to bite you if you try to grab them lol. You can get a chip put in the bird like you can for a dog so you culd identify him. It goes in his wing .They live to 70 yrs old so they become like family! Best pet you can have! And the only pet that will say he loves you ! Good luck!!!
