@robotikon huh. Would it at least require more pedal rotations to go the same amount of distance? And I can't quite grasp why it wouldn't make it harder.
@HeyImKli4d You can see that it has a pretty normal cadence in the video. It makes up for the smaller wheel size with its gear ratio: 52t in the front, 14t in the back.
If you gave this bike the same gear ratio as a bike with 700c wheels, then yeah, it would require more pedal rotations to cover the same distance, but that would make it easier to climb hills, not harder. That's what you get when you downshift on a geared bike.
@robotikon Understood... kinda. I guess I need to learn a little bit more about bikes. So, I have access to a fixed gear and a mountain bike that I put slicks on and I have a 7 mile commute to school. I ride along a pretty poorly kept bike path. A few tough hills. Which do you recommend? I like the simple look of the fixed gear but that's my only preference.
@HeyImKli4d Go with the fixed gear. You're young and sprung, you can take the hills. It'll make you a stronger climber and you'll arrive at school in style.
I don't think you should take the gears of a bike who's tires are only 20 inches. Is there any hill you can go up?

Single speed is single speed. Wheel diameter doesn't affect your ability to climb.
