Henri Dutilleux's major Violin COncerto, L'Arbre des Songes, commissioned by Isaac Stern, and thusly performed by Stern in this recording. Eugene Ormandy leads the Philadelphia Philharmonic in this fairly star-studded recording.

  • dude can play man O. O

  • It seriously doesn't get any better than Dutilleux. His cello concerto changed my life.

  • i wouldn't expect anything less from Dutilleux =]

  • Mysterious tonality and harmonics, very exciting, probing the depths of human curiosity and imagination. I don't think I am going to get bored any time soon listening to a well-developed work like this. Thank you.
