Track Skidders allow loggers to work ground they could not skid with traditional equipment. These rugged, durable machines operate in steep slopes and provide excellent flotation in soft, wet underfoot conditions.
The footprint on this unit goes further back than a dozer. On the dozer, the tracks go down at about a 20 degree angle from vertical. Not like this unit.
These are used mostly where traditional skidders get bogged down. They don't move quite as fast as a tire-type skidder but they're relentless in messy work.
