This happens because when the gun was designed they didn't make the slide strong enough but they made a black aluminium slide version.

i have had mine for 6 years no cracks no problems. but u cant find parts for it due to the co that makes the busted the contract with s&w so i would not buy this gun (bucuse of the parts poblem)

Ive had the same gun for about 4 years now been through at least 300 clips mine still looks new

@lewis4642011 Actually, Co2 plastic pistols are great and very very powerful, the dumb thing to do is a BLOWBACK Plastic Co2 Pistol.

@joshuaps3kid mine broke like that too. Where can i get a metal slide and can I use a metal slide on my plastic gun?

My slide broke aswell, but after more than 2000 shots :P
Any ideas on where I could get a replacement?

nothing wrong with mine. Had it for a week now. probably been through i'd say like over 250 shots

on mine the gas leaks out slowly really slowly but can just be heard when bottom of mag placed to ear this happens even ifthe bolt is tightend as tight as it will go losened i have tried everthing

@Goldthunder1000 Yes but if your going to do that then you may as well buy the full metal version as the metal slide costs quite a lot and they are hard to find.

They maybe made a mistake to the gun. The gun i had was the same and it worked fine.
