In memory of Michael Houser, Widespread Panic "The Waker" fan video by DG. Posted for Houser's birthday Jan. 6th (born 1962, died 2002). The song is Mike's song for his son, performed by WP with Houser on guitar/vocals and John Keane on banjo. Three verses tell the story of the family, with different names personified.
1. The Waker
2. Treetop
3. Blue Sky

In the video: picture of Michael Houser (father) and Waker Houser (son) signed on the wall at Red Rocks, Colorado. Also some nice pictures of Mikey. Thanks to the photographers and of course the band!

HELLO MY NAME IS: THE WAKER stickers are a freebie creation of mine. I printed a couple hundred and gave them away at a WSP show, American Theater, St. Louis, MO, during "The Waker". So you only got the sticker if you were there that time, during that song, near me on the floor down front. After that someone made a tshirt with the same design on the front pocket. Later still, The Sandbox panicfreaks message board forum got an avatar icon of the Hell My Name Is The Waker sticker design. Feel free to make your own. Blank blue Hello My Name Is stickers are available at Office supply stores. Or you can print the PDF link below as a full-page 8x11 sticker page. There are actually 9 stickers to make, if you like. Make 3 for each verse, 1 for each line.
1. HELLO MY NAME IS THE WAKER x3 stickers, 1 for each line of the verse.
2. HELLO MY NAME IS TREETOP x3 stickers, 1 for each line of the verse.
3. HELLO MY NAME IS BLUE SKY x3 stickers, 1 for each line of the verse.

The Waker lyrics

My name is The Waker
And I'm bringing you the morning sun
I have pushed the old man up forever
Still I feel I've just begun
I've just begun

My name is Treetop
And I'm higher than you'll ever be
I'm married to my roots here
Still I feel like I am free
Feelin' I'm free

My name is Blue Sky
And I'm bluer than all of you
I have watched you run around forever
Always searching for something new
There's nothing new

Feelin' I'm free
I've just begun
I'm always young
Love's always new

by Widespread Panic 'Til The Medicine Takes (1999)

words were written by the late great lead guitarist and singer of this song Michael Houser for his son Waker Houser.
